All About DJ ANDY AJAR

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, DJ Andy Ajar began his professional career at 19, spinning on Monday Nights at the city’s then major gay dance club, City Lights. Within a year of his debut, he was promoted to Friday Night DJ.
After a few years, the owners of the club moved to a larger location and renamed the bar Cafe Rumors and also opened a video club named Cathode Ray, where he also began to dabble in the video mixing arena. He went on to win the awards of Best Hi-NRG DJ and Best Overall DJ in Western New York and Southern Ontario, and performed a mixing exhibition at a seminar that was comprised of DJ’s from across New York State. His music attracted faithful dancers from around the region - Rochester, Toronto and a contingent of N.Y.C. party boys would come to town to hear him and revel in a musical journey...
Then in 1989, DJ Ajar came to work in Southwest Florida at TBL (The Bottom Line). Within a year, the club moved from it’s former location on Colonial Blvd. to it’s present location on Evans Ave. and the club’s reputation for the best dance music began.
After 3 years, he took a year off to become the head DJ at Pharaoh’s, another local gay night club and then returned to TBL.
In 1993, he won the award for Best DJ in Southwest Florida and TBL also won Best Nightclub in Southwest Florida in a competition that was sponsored by Florida Suncoast Record Pool and night clubs along the Gulf Coast, and he and the club gathered votes from Naples all the way up to Orlando.
DJ Andy Ajar has also been a regular attendee of the The Winter Music Conference, which is a gathering of all facets of the dance music recording industry, in Miami every year.
He was also a contributing reporter to the worldwide publication, DMA (Dance Music Authority) for over 5 years, which was available at local music retail stores in the U.S. and across the globe, in which he reviewed the latest dance singles and DJ remix services until the publication folded in 2003. He was also called into the studio to add his talents to do a remix of 2XL’s dance single - "Somewhere In Time" with Noel Sanger and hopes to pursue a career in the dance music industry.
DJ Ajar entered in a NATIONWIDE DJ CONTEST sponsored by G.I.R.L. (www.gayinternetradiolive.com), GayDays.com, Bud Light, Saturn and American Airlines, in the hopes of winning a Gay Days 2008 Pool Party Guest DJ spot at The Royal Plaza in Orlando, Florida.
Over 100 DJ’s from all across the nation entered, and DJ Andy Ajar made it into the Top 24 Finalists - and was the FIRST DJ to have his set played NATIONALLY on G.I.R.L. (www.gayinternetradiolive.com) on January 20th, 2008.
The contest was judged by comments left on his profile, votes from members and emails sent to G.I.R.L. (www.gayinternetradiolive.com) via the CONTACT US section of their website.
He then proceeded to make it into The Top 12, The Top 8, The Top 6, The Top 4 and went on to WIN one of the 2 Guest DJ Spots!

At The Gay Days - Bud Light Pool Party at The Royal Plaza in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, June 7th, 2008, DJ Andy Ajar performed his first set from 5pm-6pm. He returned later that evening to spin from 10pm-2am. The night was nothing short of magic! At the end of his 4 hour set to a record breaking crowd, the crowd began chanting for an encore!
After both his perfomances on Saturday and another 90 minute set the following night, DJ Andy Ajar has been assured by the owners of Gay Days and G.I.R.L. that he will be spinning at Gay Days for YEARS to come!
